With the expansion of the storage requirement within the port, BHM were awarded the works for the construction of a container stacking facility within the existing port health, safety, environment and security protocols.

The works consisted of the installation of new base subgrade drainage and drainage wells, grading and pavement construction of 4 inch type S-II hot mix asphalt, including density testing to ensure compliance with the specification, under BHM’s ISO Accreditation and independent accredited laboratory.
Following the successful completion in HMA of area GS6, BHM was awarded the contract to construct further areas of container stacking areas to Delta 2, 3 and 4.
The works included site clearance, bulk earthworks, sub base and base layers and 4 inch type S-II HMA pavement together with areas of chip and sand seal. The works also included for drainage installation and well drilling. BHM ISO laboratory was responsible for the density testing of both the base and HMA construction.
