BHM was appointed by Arawak Port Development Limited for the construction of the landside facilities for the new Port on Arawak Cay to service the island of New Providence and a vital link for goods transfer to the Family Islands.

The relocation of the port was required to ease heavy Bay Street container traffic and allows shipping companies to operate from one location at the mouth of the Nassau Harbour. Arawak Cay marine wrks and new apron will allow the port to operate as a recognised international container port. The 40-acre development is the home for local shipping companies and a distribution facility for international freight to the whole of the Bahamas.
The works included:-
• Bulk earthworks and preparation for terminal areas
• Asphalt and concrete surfacing to Container stacking areas
