LPIA Expansion

BHM contracted by Nassau Airport Development Company for the construction of airside and landside civil engineering works

Client: Nassau Airport Development Company

Named after Sir Lynden Pindling, the first Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the airport sits just west of Nassau. The expansion of the airport was essential to attract and accommodate up to 5 million passengers annually and become one of the top world-class airports in North America.

With US pre-clearance facility, the airport offers Americans and transit passengers to and from the United States, who will make up 80% of passengers in the future, the added advantage of transitioning through US Customs and Immigration before leaving The Bahamas.

The expansion of the airport was undertaken in three stages.

Stage One – US Departures Terminal.
