Monday, December 11 marked the beginning of what is expected to be a winning long-term partnership between the five-time New Year’s Day Junkanoo Parade Champion Platinum Knights (PK) and the construction company BHM.
PK Leader Thomas Curry Jr., and BHM’s Managing Director Ebbe Saidi shook hands to seal the deal, as BHM stepped forward with a $15,000 check to support the group’s preparation for the 2024 New Year’s Day parade.
“We are pleased to be a part of the Grand Bahama community and delighted to be able to support the Platinum Knights Junkanoo group,” Saidi said.
“Our support is the beginning of what we believe will be a great partnership with the group.”
Curry said, “Annually the group’s budget is around $125,000. We keep a lot of kids busy and young people off the streets throughout the year.”
He added, “And, it takes a lot of funding to get the group on the parade route every year. So, we are thankful to God that BHM is assisting with this great donation to get us on the road.”
